Description

Visly Kamen is an amazing rock rising above the water at an altitude of 70-80 meters. Its cornice resembles the profile of a bearded old man, which led to another name - “Stone Grandfather”. At the top of the rock there is a small platform from where magnificent views of the Snake Backwater and the Shelekhmet Mountains open up. However, it is worth remembering that being on this rock can be dangerous due to its gradual destruction.

At the foot of Visly Kamen there is Lake Vislokamenka, or Zmeinoye, which was previously connected to the river only during floods. There were always a lot of snakes in these places, which gave the name to the lake. Today you can find various types of plants here, including those listed in the Red Book. Also in the vicinity are moose, roe deer, and recently pairs of swans and a family of beavers chose this place to live.

In order to get to Visly Kamen, you can use the hiking trail from the village of Shelekhmet or from the tourist shelter of the Shelekhmet National Park.
