Description
In 1924, Nikolskaya Street in Orekhovo-Zuevo was renamed Lenin Street, which became a symbol of a new era for the city. However, the real embodiment of the veneration of the leader of the October Revolution was the installation of a monument to V.I. Lenin on November 7, 1933 in the park of the city park of culture and recreation.
The creation of this historical monument was possible thanks to the efforts of the sculptor N.I. Shilnikov with the assistance of Orekhovo-Zuev artists A.N. Shaposhnikov and V.I. Vzorova. During the Soviet regime, the monument served not only as a symbol of revolutionary ideas, but also as the center of the cultural life of the city. There was a gallery of portraits of leaders of industrial enterprises and agriculture of the city and region, and ceremonial receptions for pioneers were organized for students of city schools.
