Goat rocks, located on the five-domed mountain Beshtau, are one of the main attractions of the Kavminvod. Although these are not peaks in the usual sense, but rather a mountain range with steep slopes and sharp ledges, they attract tourists for their ruggedness and beauty. The name of the rocks comes from the fact that only goats are able to climb

Description
The Assumption of the Second Athos Beshtaugorsky Monastery is a male monastery located in the vicinity of the city of Lermontov, Stavropol Territory, in the territory of the 55th quarter of the Mashuk forestry, on the road of the Beshtau ring at the foot of Mount Beshtau. It was founded by monks who came to the Caucasus from Holy Mount Athos, on the site where, according to legend, an ancient Byzantine monastery existed since the 9th century.
At the beginning of May 1904, the site for the future temple in the name of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Second Athos Beshtaugorsky Holy Dormition Monastery was consecrated. Construction began the same year, and in November 1904 the Assumption Monastery Church was consecrated. Along with the temple, a cattle yard with a dairy farm was built.
In October 1905, a free church school was opened for orphans whose fathers died in the Russo-Japanese War. However, in January 1906 the temple was badly damaged by fire. After the fire, the estate was donated to the monastery for the construction of a courtyard, and in 1908 an Orthodox church was consecrated on its territory.
During Soviet times, the monastery was closed and its buildings were destroyed. However, in the 1990s, the revival of the monastery began. In 2001, the St. George Church was consecrated, and the monastery resumed its activities. The first rector after the revival of the monastery was Archimandrite Silouan (Haraim), and after the creation of the Pyatigorsk diocese, Archbishop Theophylact of Pyatigorsk and Circassia became the rector. Currently, the rector of the monastery is Hieromonk Mikhail (Gichko).
Since April 2014, the main cathedral in honor of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary has been built in the monastery. Also on the territory of the monastery there is a church history museum, a bakery and an apiary. The monastery is open to pilgrims and guests from Tuesday to Sunday from morning to evening, and services in the temple are held daily.
Since 2004, the monastery has hosted the forum of Orthodox youth of the Pyatigorsk diocese “Green Athos”, and also published the monthly monastic newspaper “Deuteronomy leaf”.
