Description

Savranskaya Ropeway is a tourist attraction in Adygea opened in 2014. It is located at the entrance to the stanitsa of Dakhovskaya, by the turn of the road to the Lago-Naki plateau, and carries visitors up a forest clearing on the mountainside to the top of the rocky Una-Koz ridge.

The ropeway is 1,250 metres long, climbs 500 metres in height, and the one-way ride takes about 15 minutes. The Una-Koz ridge, which the ropeway reaches, rises about 1 kilometre above sea level; during the ascent and descent there are views of the Belaya River valley and the peaks of the Azish-Tau ridge, and from the summit itself a panorama of Dakhovskaya and the distant Lago-Naki mountains opens up.

After the ride up, visitors can continue on foot or by off-road vehicle and quad bike to nearby sights: the Cave of Desires, Devil's Finger rock, the Pylnaya and Dakhovskaya caves, and the Tethys extreme sports club. The ticket covers both the ascent and the descent and is valid for one day.

It is more comfortable to visit the ropeway in summer or on weekdays, when there are fewer people at the cable car itself, the car park and on the trails; it is worth checking the current schedule in advance. The weather also matters: the ride may be suspended during a thunderstorm or strong wind, and it can be windy at the top, especially in winter. Comfortable flat shoes are useful for the dirt trails to the caves and rocks.
