Description

OJSC "OZTP-Sarmat" is an Orsk tractor trailer plant, founded in 1969 with the aim of producing heavy-duty trailers and semi-trailers for tractors.

In the early 1980s, the plant, by order of the Ministry of Defense, mastered the production of ZIL-135 automobile chassis, but only the beginning of this process is known.

In 1995, the plant received documentation from ATK Orenburgavtotrans for medium and extra-large buses Alterna-4216 and Alterna-6230, and by 1998 it began producing these models at full capacity. Until 1999, about 50 medium and 6 extra large buses were produced.

In 1997, prototypes of the modernized Nadezhda buses were presented - the medium Sarmat-4225 and the especially large Sarmat-6221. At the end of the 90s, the plant also mastered the production of self-propelled reapers for mowing grain.

In 2003, a tourist bus model 5286 “Saturn” was manufactured. However, in 2006, the plant encountered problems and bankruptcy proceedings were opened.

In 2010, the enterprise was reorganized in order to optimize management. Despite this, in 2012 the plant was liquidated by the tax authorities, and by 2020 its production buildings were demolished.

Today, it is possible to encounter workers or security guards on the site of the former plant, but most of the plant is unguarded, allowing ruin explorers to visit it and even enter abandoned rooms such as the canteen and even the bunker.
