Orenburg guardhouse building
The guardhouse in Orenburg, built in the mid-19th century, is a significant architectural object that reflects the history and style of urban planning of that time. The building, rising on the banks of the Ural River, attracts attention with its unusual architectural appearance and fragments of pseudo-Gothic style.
The Treasury Storeroom, towering over the surrounding area, resembles a small fortress with a tower and battlements, making it unique among other buildings in the city. Lancet windows, crenellations, white stone details and colored bricks create a medieval atmosphere and give the building a special character.
The interior of the guardhouse continues the Gothic style theme, with an enfilade layout, box vaults and decorative elements typical of the architecture of the time. A staircase with a forged lattice and floors made of Metlakh tiles add a special flavor and authenticity to the interior.
The building was actively used at different periods of its history, ranging from the function of a treasury storeroom to a guardhouse and cells for prisoners. Monument to A.S. Pushkin, installed in front of the entrance to the building, gives it additional significance as a symbol of the cultural heritage and historical memory of the city.
Despite the changes that have occurred to the guardhouse over time, its appearance and architectural appearance remain important evidence of the past, attracting the attention of residents and visitors of Orenburg and recalling the rich history of this place.
