Church of Peter and Paul

A penance cross in the Totsky district of the Orenburg region marks the spot where the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker once stood.
The church was built in 1908 and consecrated on November 30 of that year. In 1929, the authorities planned to close it and turn the building into a community center, but the decision was later reversed, and the church was used as a grain store instead. It was finally closed in 1932, shortly after Easter. A well stood nearby, and its water sank underground once the church was shut. Today a penance cross stands on the site.
