Fort Clatsop was a campsite of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, located in Oregon County near the mouth of the Columbia River. During the winter of 1805–06, the expedition camped here at the northern end of the Clatsop Plains, about 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Astoria.
