Description

The holy spring in the Sharlyk district of the Orenburg region is known for its clean drinking water and an interesting legend about its origin. Located just 7 km south of Sharlyk, next to the road to the village of Aleksandrovka, the spring got its name thanks to a legend according to which lightning struck the stones during a thunderstorm, opening this spring.

The area near the spring is equipped and lined with stones for the convenience of visitors. The water here tastes good and is cool even on the hottest days. Local residents often come here for water, appreciating its purity and freshness.

The nearby village of Barakovo is a small community with only 83 residents according to the 2011 census.

The spring was consecrated by Schema-Archimandrite Seraphim of Svyatogorets (Tomin).
