Description
The temple dedicated to the Holy Righteous Blessed Matrona of Moscow is located in the village of Mayorskoye in the Sakmarsky District of the Orenburg Region. Its history began in 2005 when construction of the temple commenced, culminating in 2007 with the completion of the final building. The architectural style of the temple combines elements of Russian and Byzantine architecture, and it was constructed from brick. The architect behind the project is Valentin Mikhailovich Konovalov.
The history of the temple's establishment is linked to the Marinin family's move from Orenburg to the village of Mayorskoye. Petr Alexeyevich Marinin heads the family and serves as the church elder, with his son Alexey Petrovich acting as the main sponsor of the construction. Initially, the plot of land leased by the family was intended for building a house, but later, the decision was made to construct a temple instead. The construction was made possible thanks to the financial support of local residents of the Mayorskoye village.
The laying of the temple's foundation stone took place in May 2006, conducted by the Metropolitan of Orenburg and Buzuluk, His Eminence Valentin, while the consecration of the temple itself occurred in November 2008. A chapel is also situated on the temple grounds, where believers can collect holy water. Inside the temple, there is a large icon of St. Matrona, painted by craftsmen who worked on the original icon, which is located in Moscow.
