Description

Konstantinovsky quarry is a picturesque artificial reservoir in the suburbs of Tver. Created in the last century on the site of a sand quarry, today it has become a favorite recreation spot for Tver residents. This reservoir is known for its clean water and beautiful surroundings, attracting both locals and tourists.

In the summer, Konstantinovsky quarry becomes a popular place for recreation. On weekends it is especially crowded, and on weekdays it is quieter and calmer. In winter, the reservoir attracts ice skaters who skate on the frozen pond.

Safety and ecology

Along the dirt road leading to the quarry, there is a railway that transports sand to the Tver silicate plant. Despite the proximity of production, the water in the quarry remains one of the cleanest in the region. The area around the quarry is covered with forest, where you can enjoy the silence and fresh air.

Infrastructure and maintenance

The beaches of the quarry are "wild", there are no changing cabins or sun loungers. The northern shore of the reservoir is kept clean by volunteers and members of diving clubs, there are bio-toilets and barriers on the territory, prohibiting access to the water by car.

Types of active recreation

The Konstantinovsky quarry offers a variety of entertainment for every taste:

  • Diving
  • Fishing
  • Wakeboarding park
  • Zipline
  • Walks along the family bike route

Walking and cycling routes

A bike trail is open for pedestrians and cyclists, which starts from Sakharovskoye Highway and stretches for 2 km to Konstantinovsky Pond. In the future, it is planned to extend the route to the village of Lukino.

Diving and underwater surprises

The Konstantinovsky quarry is one of the best places for diving training in Central Russia. Here, divers will find sunken objects such as a Zaporozhets, an iron woodcutter, a military motorcycle, and even an "underwater office." The water temperature gradually drops from 20 degrees at the surface to 10 degrees closer to the bottom, which makes diving especially exciting.

Fishing

Fishing in the quarry is popular both in summer and winter. The reservoir is inhabited by perch, pike, and crayfish, attracting fishermen not only from Tver, but also from the surrounding regions.

How to get there

The Konstantinovsky quarry is located 200 km from Moscow, and the road takes about 2.5-3 hours. You can get to the quarry from Tver in 10 minutes along the Savvatyevskoye Highway. In bad weather, the road can become washed out, so it will be easier to get to the place by car on dry days. There are also taxi services in Tver that can be called through mobile applications or websites.
