Mega Museum of the USSR (Sochi)

The Mega Museum of the USSR, also known as the "MEGA Museum of the USSR", is a private museum of the Soviet era in Sochi. It opened in 2017 on the grounds of the Olympic Park, and in 2021 moved to a more spacious building at 7/3 Navaginskaya Street in the city's Central District. The museum covers about 600 square meters and combines several themed exhibitions: the Museum of Soviet Childhood, the Museum of Arcade Machines, the Museum of Weapons and the Museum of Retro Motorcycles.

Museum exhibits

• Everyday life of Soviet citizens: interior items, household appliances, kitchen utensils and other objects familiar to many Soviet citizens.
• Interactive zones: Soviet-era arcade machines, soda vending machines, typewriters and corded telephones that visitors can actually use.
• Interiors of the era: recreated Soviet apartments — folding beds, sideboards with festive dinnerware sets, carpets on the walls and more.
• Motorcycles and retro cars: a collection of Soviet motorcycles and children's cars, along with a weapons display.
• Shops and department stores: a reconstruction of Soviet-era retail, where visitors can see period clothing and try using the cash registers.

Many of the exhibits can be touched, which makes the visit interactive; the museum also holds themed events, exhibitions and lectures. The displays bring back memories for those who lived through the era and introduce younger visitors to the everyday life and culture of the Soviet Union. The Mega Museum of the USSR is open every day from 10:00 to 20:00.
