Description
In the Penza region, on the Penza-Shemysheyka highway, a unique spring called “Kettle” attracts attention. Despite the passage of time and the accident, residents and visitors to the region continue to gather here in search of fresh water.
In the last century, in the late 70s - early 80s, the idea to designate springs with iconic elements belonged to Georgy Myasnikov. The result was the creation of spring points, highlighted by teapots, one of which was located near the Penza-Shemysheyka highway.
Over time, this place became a popular meeting point for summer residents and residents of nearby villages. For twenty years people have been collecting water here for use in fishing, gardening and everyday life.
The accident, when a car crashed into a kettle, did not leave local residents indifferent. After the incident, the remains of the metal structure lay in the grass for months, raising fears that they would be taken away for scrap.
However, thanks to the efforts of employees of a road construction company, the fence was restored. The restored teapot attracts the gaze of passing motorists and has become a symbol of welcome for travelers.
Desires to improve the site for visitors were also expressed. One suggested setting up a sidewalk area, installing tables and sunshades, while others expressed a desire to see trash cans next to the spring to keep it clean.
