Description

Silicate lakes in Lipetsk are one of the most popular vacation spots for local residents and city guests. This complex of artificial reservoirs was formed on the site of former silicate quarries on the left bank of the Voronezh River. The lakes are distinguished by the purity of their water, as they are filled with groundwater and springs. Wide sandy beaches allow you to relax comfortably, and the variety of fish makes this place attractive for fishing enthusiasts.

Silicate lakes make up four reservoirs in the Left Bank district of the city, between Osenniy Proezd in the west and the village of Silikatny in the east. They have different areas, depths and shapes. One of the most popular lakes is located to the west of the others and has two equipped beaches on the northern and southern shores.

The lake located to the north is also popular with vacationers. It has a narrow shape and an extensive sand spit. However, access to water from the western shore is limited due to a steep cliff, so most people enter the beach from the village of Silikatny.

The eastern part of the complex is represented by two small lakes surrounded by houses in the village of Silikatnoye. Despite the attractiveness of these lakes, they have some disadvantages, such as uneven bottoms and icy undercurrents, which make swimming here somewhat dangerous.

Silicate lakes arose as a result of the mining of silicate sand in a nearby forest area back in Soviet times. Gradually, the quarries began to fill with water, and today they are a popular place for recreation and entertainment.

One of the lakes is fenced and set aside for a shooting range, which has become an additional form of entertainment for visitors.
